Me, Myself & AI

Ever feel like you're juggling a million tasks? You're not alone. Many Kiwi business owners often find themselves short on time and resources, trying to wear the hat of CEO, marketer, salesperson or admin. But with limited time and resources, keeping up with marketing (and your many other tasks) can be overwhelming. It's an age-old balancing act, so what's the solution?

AI.

Over the last few years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has exploded into the mainstream, with many industries taking advantage of the technology. While in Aotearoa, AI has not had the same traction, with 65% of SMEs having not yet utilised the technology. AI has a multitude of benefits available for business owners like yourself, the key one being the freeing up of time.

How can AI work for you?

Find you're on the fence about how useful AI can be for your Kiwi business. Here are a couple of benefits of AI.

  • Increased Productivity
Spend less time on repetitive tasks like scheduling social posts or generating reports and leave it in the hands of AI. This frees you up to focus on strategy, relationship building with customers and running your business.
  • Get data-based insights
AI can help you analyse data and reveal insights about your customers, letting you identify trends and learn more about your customers and how you can help them.
  • Get creative inspiration
Hitting a creative wall? Use AI to brainstorm ideas or explain concepts in digestible chunks.

5 Ways AI can help with your marketing

Ready to get AI working for you? While AI can come in handy for many different tasks, here are 5 easy ways to use it in your marketing.

1. Personalised Experiences

76% of consumers state they're more likely to purchase from brands that personalise, making it a key strategy to incorporate. And you can use AI to analyse customer data to better understand your customer's preferences and buying habits. With this in mind, you can segment your email list on demographics and past purchases, sending your customers content based on demographics or past purchases.

Want to get even more personal? Leverage an email platform with built-in AI to personalise subject lines, and product recommendations and incorporate names for a more personal touch.

2. Content Creation

Set aside time to batch content, but find yourself in a creative rut? If the ideas aren't flowing, AI tools like Gemini or ChatGPT are great tools to kickstart your creativity, brainstorm ideas or create an outline.

However, word for the wise, we recommend ALWAYS editing and revising any content you get from AI tools. This is to ensure the information you're getting is true and accurate (AI has been known to... create some 'truths' 🙁 ) and to make sure what you create matches the voice of your business.

3. Social Media

Scheduling and reporting are now built into many social media management tools, as well as the platforms themselves and we recommend taking full advantage of this! The scheduling function is a great way to queue up posts in advance, stay consistent with posting and post when your audience is most active.

Built-in reporting goes a long way in understanding your customers, learning what resonates with them, who your posts are reaching and how your customers engage with your business. With this knowledge, you can tailor your content, offers and voice to them or pivot strategy if required.

4. Chatbots

Find yourself spending a lot of time answering the same questions over and over? Save yourself some time with a chatbot! Able to work around the clock (even if you're not), you can set up a chatbot to answer common customer questions and provide around-the-clock support.

With plenty of free options available, all you need is to load up your chatbot and set it loose on the website. While it won't be able to handle all queries (after all it only knows what you tell it), it can help prioritise urgent and non-urgent queries.
